fun fact, I learned ASL in my free time during 9th grade and then met my 10th grade best friend who was deaf — I knew enough to be conversational with her from the start and became fluent with practice

I highly recommend this site where I learned everything for free: https://www.lifeprint.com/index.htm

during college I wanted more in-person experience and was able to jump back in and pick up in an ASL 2 course

I was considering becoming an interpreter before the following semester when everything would be online again due to the pandemic— so I took a break from that idea and ended up pursuing my current career

♡ MY COLORWORK INSTRUCTIONS ♡

  • this project must be done in HDC: 1 graph square = 1 HDC

  • graphs must start on an odd row

  • even numbered rows will be the wrong side if you are right handed

  • odd numbered rows will be the wrong side if you are left handed

  • read the graph from right to left on odd rows, and left to right on even rows

click here to read more tips

  • if you make the graphic into a plain tapestry, I would suggest a starting chain of 4-6 more than the graph to leave 2 or 3 background stitches on each side, plus one turning chain each row & I would suggest starting graph on row 3 and working two blank rows after the graph is completed

  • you can use these graphs on any hdc project, but with worsted weight yarn, a 5mm hook and a gauge of 5 rows of 6 hdc = 2” x 2”, you should get the dimensions as listed
