fun fact, I learned ASL in my free time during 9th grade and then met my 10th grade best friend who was deaf — I knew enough to be conversational with her from the start and became fluent with practice
I highly recommend this site where I learned everything for free: https://www.lifeprint.com/index.htm
during college I wanted more in-person experience and was able to jump back in and pick up in an ASL 2 course
I was considering becoming an interpreter before the following semester when everything would be online again due to the pandemic— so I took a break from that idea and ended up pursuing my current career
♡ MY COLORWORK INSTRUCTIONS ♡
this project must be done in HDC: 1 graph square = 1 HDC
graphs must start on an odd row
even numbered rows will be the wrong side if you are right handed
odd numbered rows will be the wrong side if you are left handed
read the graph from right to left on odd rows, and left to right on even rows
if you make the graphic into a plain tapestry, I would suggest a starting chain of 4-6 more than the graph to leave 2 or 3 background stitches on each side, plus one turning chain each row & I would suggest starting graph on row 3 and working two blank rows after the graph is completed
you can use these graphs on any hdc project, but with worsted weight yarn, a 5mm hook and a gauge of 5 rows of 6 hdc = 2” x 2”, you should get the dimensions as listed
